Ever wondered if there’s more to life than the daily grind? Our beliefs, judgments, worries, and avoidance of feelings create a limited life. Imagine living with blinders on, competing relentlessly. But what's the rush and why are we competing anyway? Let's explore this together.
How can I be happy?
You can find happiness in the simplest things, like drinking coffee, petting your pet, or taking a walk outside, whether it's rainy or sunny. It's all about your perception, but it has to be true and genuine for you.
It does not have to be hard and complex. It’s just human nature to make it complex so you need to unlearn a few things…
One of the biggest barriers to happiness is our limiting beliefs. These beliefs can hinder your growth and actions. No matter where you go, you won't experience true happiness until you recognize the stories you tell yourself.
Happiness comes from respecting, appreciating, and genuinely loving yourself. If you lie to yourself, you'll only create more reasons to be unhappy. So, be honest with yourself and embrace who you are.
What Are We Chasing in Life?
Ever stopped to think about what we’re chasing in life? Many of us find ourselves in a relentless pursuit of goals, money, and status.
We work hard, trying to be better than everyone else in the world. But what’s the real end game here? Is it happiness, fulfilment, or something else entirely?
This endless chase often leads to stress and dissatisfaction. It feels like every day is a battle, reaching for new heights without pausing to enjoy the view.
Imagine you have blinders on, focused only on the race ahead, missing out on everything around you; there's more to life than just the finish line. Why are we so focused on competing anyway?
The Role of Beliefs and Judgments
Our beliefs and judgments shape how we view life. They create boundaries that limit our experiences.
When we label something as good or bad, we restrict our ability to fully engage with it.
Have you ever had an idea, and the moment you second-guessed yourself, the idea was gone?
You judge yourself. This judgmental viewpoint often leads to anxiety and perfectionism, making us feel like we need to fix ourselves constantly.
Imagine if we could let go of these limitations. By doing so, we might discover a new way of living, free from the need to judge and compete.
A direct way of life without the complex limiting processes that bring no results and truth to the table.
Where you get to learn about the original version of yourself and have fun doing it. You may discover your mission or the things you deeply desire to do.
Avoiding Feelings: The Hidden Cost
Avoiding our feelings comes at a hidden cost. When we suppress emotions like anger, sadness, or stress, we miss out on important aspects of our human experience.
These feelings are there for a reason; they guide us and help us understand ourselves better. Yes, even being angry means something.
By facing our emotions head-on, we can learn to navigate life more authentically. This process might be uncomfortable and may not be easy for many people, but it’s crucial for personal growth and true fulfilment.
If you are chasing money or fame, here is a task for you: Have you ever watched a reality TV show with millionaires? What do they have in common when they take action? I will leave you to discover it.
Have you ever listened to music that made you feel a certain way? But then someone told you something about a song, and you decided to stop listening to it because of the judgment you received? This is one of the many examples I can tell you about building up limitations.
The Problem with Competing
Why do we compete so fiercely? Competition creates a sense of separation and disconnection in our community. It makes us see others as rivals rather than fellow travellers on the journey of life.
This viewpoint leads to isolation and a constant feeling of not being good enough.
What if we stopped competing and started collaborating?
By working together and supporting each other, we can create a sense of community and belonging. This shift in perspective can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Why More Knowledge Isn’t Always Better
After decades of seeking knowledge on why life is the way it is, why a tree is a tree, and why things are the way they are, I concluded that more knowledge and information don’t matter.
In fact, more information makes you overwhelmed and prevents you from taking action because you end up in this loop of finding the best information.
When you are seeking knowledge from different sources, you end up indecisive with no action. More choices do not mean better results.
Sometimes, it’s better to embrace the unknown and trust the process. By doing so, we allow ourselves to experience life more fully and spontaneously.
Does Hard Work Equal Success?
We’ve been taught that hard work leads to success and freedom. But is that really true? If hard work alone were the key, everyone would be successful and free.
The reality is more complex. Success often requires a combination of effort, opportunity, and viewpoint.
Doing more does not equal having more. Doing more means you are busy. Does being busy lead to success and freedom? Nope.
If hard work led to freedom and success, everyone would have it. As soon as you label something better or worse, you are judging it.
It adds depth to your communication, but that's another loophole you are entering.
The Trap of Personal Development
Personal development is a booming industry, but it can also be a trap. The constant pursuit of self-improvement can make us feel like we’re never enough. We get caught up in fixing problems that may not even exist.
Going through these realizations on how I have been limiting myself and what mainstream media "problems" I fall into.
I created for myself—from procrastination, separation, disconnectedness, anxiety, perfectionism, judgment, etc.—resulting in feeling there are so many problems with myself and I need to change. Consistently.
My focus was on those so-called "problems," trying to fix and heal them that never were problems in the first place.
Why? Because I decided to identify with that idea. What you focus on grows, so that led me to years of trying to fix myself.
It's funny because that's why I never believed in therapy in the first place, but I still got trapped in the constant personal development scheme.
Is Life Truly Outside of Us?
We all choose life the way it is for some reason. None of us are born the same way, in the same family, or culture, with the same circumstances, experiencing the same things.
There are way too many unexplainable things in life that no one can explain. Knowing that information means no spiritual guru can explain better than you what you need in life.
Have you ever realized that you hear information that you want to hear, almost like a song that resonates with you? I was feeling so trapped in my own way of trying to fix myself that I decided to do hypnotherapy, hoping it would help me.
(Yeah, therapy.) I thought it might be the shortcut to working on all of those "issues" so I can be where I want to be.
In the beginning, it seemed like it worked, but soon enough it stopped working. After a session, I sat in my car to drive home and I heard on the radio what we exactly talked about my industry.
The same content. This was way too precise and it raised some alarms for me. Probably it happened to you not only once.
Imagine that it is not some rhetorical content but what you consider hard stone truth written about your field of work and no one talks about it. The unpopular opinion.
We all choose life the way it is for some reason. We are just not conscious of the details. None of us are born the same way, in the same family, or culture, with the same circumstances, experiencing the same things.
There are way too many unexplainable things that no one can explain. Knowing that information means no adult or internet "guru" knows better what you need than you.
Most of the time these "solutions" do not get to the root cause but treat the symptoms.
Understanding Our True Needs
To live a fulfilling life, we need to understand our true needs. This means tuning into ourselves and discovering what brings us joy and satisfaction.
It’s about finding balance and setting boundaries that protect our well-being. Something is misleading about how we grew up, the system, what we believe in, and what and how we learn about the way of life.
It's always the next thing, the next achievement forcing us to focus on the future or what happened in the past including news.
When are we present? When is time? When is enough? What's lacking is not learning about ourselves, what we enjoy doing, and where the boundaries in kindness are so we are not taken advantage of. Can you guess, would it all be part of your experience?
More to Life: Experience & Discovery
Life is about experiences and discovery. It’s about exploring new things, embracing challenges, and learning from every moment.
By letting go of judgment and competition, we open ourselves up to a richer and more diverse array of experiences.
Creating and having experiences are key foundational elements of life. That's the only way to learn and grow.
Without you taking action, learning from books, watching how-to videos, consuming others' content, sitting around and waiting will not give you key takeaways and experiences.
It's only up to you to decide what you do with your life, what excites you, what you deeply enjoy doing, and how you want to create it.
Success isn’t the same for everyone. It’s about living fully and authentically and letting others do the same.
This perspective leads to a more fulfilling life, including creating a harmonious lifestyle on your terms. You are the creator of your world, it's your responsibility. And it's time for you to accept it.
The Biggest Gift of All
This is something that many of us have not learned, which is self-appreciation and love. Perhaps that's our journey to explore it. Appreciation means an increase in value.
Yet many people cannot accept support, gifts, or compliments from others. There is no bigger compliment than when you have full faith in yourself that everything will unfold as it should because you are the creator.
Regardless of your beliefs or religion. You can believe in any God, the universe, the source, or nothing at all.
You know that you exist, you always have choices and acknowledging your existence is the biggest gift you can give to yourself. Are you treating yourself well?
When you can do that to yourself first, and others that's when opportunities will open up for you because you are not judging it anymore. You are just being you without limitations.
